Schecter Guitars

I never knew how amazing Schecter Guitars sound when they are being played/practiced by those who know how to play these beautiful instruments until I became a teenager. When I was younger, I had an exceedingly basic and small guitar. I played it like I was an actual rockstar. When I heard about a band called Avenged Sevenfold. There were two guitarists, Zachy Vengeance and Synyster Gates, who really know how to rock with their Schecter guitars. I was listening to the sounds that came from those guitars that got me so interested in more guitars that were owned by a guitar company that was founded by a man named David Schecter. I also know that the Diamond Series of these guitars were first introduced in 1998, and consists of all the non-custom, mass-produced Schecter models. And also that the custom shop days were from 1976 to 1983.  What I am concerned about is if David Schecter was an guitarist before he founded the Schecter guitar company, why the custom shop days lasted for only 7 years, and why Synyster Gates only plays a Schecter guitar during his band performances.
